In my construction and carpentry program, students don't just learn skills - they earn them. My goal is to equip students with both knowledge and the tools they need to succeed in the construction industry.
Through the Earn Your Edge toolbox program that I have instituted into my classroom this year, students have the opportunity to earn real, high-quality tools by passing their NCCER construction and carpentry module tests on the first try.
These screwdrivers, gloves, and other tools will not only serve as motivation to study and excel but will also become a tangible reward they can take home and use as they build their futures. Your support will help students see the connection between effort, achievement, and success. At the end of the year, students who earn their tools will leave with more than just knowledge - they will have the foundation they need to enter the workforce or continue their education in the skilled trades.
