This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergarten students are full of energy, curiosity, and big emotions. As they begin their academic journey, it's essential to support their social and emotional development alongside their academic growth. I am requesting engaging social-emotional learning (SEL) activities and tools—such as emotion recognition games, calming sensory items, storybooks that teach empathy, and visual charts to support self-regulation.

Students will use these tools during morning meetings, brain breaks, and quiet corners to practice identifying feelings, calming down when overwhelmed, and expressing themselves in positive ways.

These daily moments of SEL practice will help my young learners build critical life skills like empathy, confidence, and emotional control. With your support, I can create a nurturing classroom where every child feels seen, safe, and ready to learn.
