Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Can you imagine growing up not knowing that there is a world outside the neighborhood you live in? My student asked me on the first day of school where the teachers hide their beds. I hope to expand their universe through technology and offer them a chance to wonder and dream.
My students attend a public school in South Los Angeles.
The school is located in an economically disadvantaged community plagued by gangs and crime. Despite their home situation, my students are fun and energetic six and seven year olds. They are eager and seek every opportunity to learn.
My Project
My students need updated technology in the form of Prestige 7 Tablet. They are faced with the task of learning in a competitive world. I plan to create centers using the PRESTIGE 7 - tablet in order for students to work independently. It is through the use of technology that I hope to utilize the various learning apps. Students will practice rhyming sounds, sequencing, alphabet, beginning sounds and opposites. These games will help students master rhyming sounds, practice spelling, vocabulary and basic number skills. The technology center will help students who may be behind due to limited language skills, now and for years to come.

I strongly believe in students being able reach out to the world to gain knowledge and ideas in order to have a chance to become economic and cultural world leaders. A simple tablet will transform their learning and impact every subject positively.
