Help me give my students 4 tablets with cases, a green screen and a set of individual dry erase boards. These materials will add to our digital resources and move the use of technology from substitution to redefinition.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is filled with motivated, creative, and hardworking students. They love anything involving the use of technology! Each day is a new chance to explore, share and learn. As a class and family, we motivate one another and love a challenge.
The use of technology is important to me as I work hard to make them ready for all their future endeavors.
Our goal is to utilize technology to enhance their knowledge but also share their mastery and success.
The mission of our school and district is to utilize technology not only as a substitution for conventional resources but to move beyond that on the SAMR Model and REDEFINE the use of technology in the classroom.
My Project
It is my goal each year in the classroom to integrate the use of technology in every facet of the learning experience. In order to reach this goal, I am modeling my instruction using the SAMR model. This is a framework created by Dr. Ruben Puentedura that categorizes four different degrees of classroom technology integration in which my district and school are utilizing. The letters "SAMR" stand for Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition.
With the use of tablets and applications such as Flip Grid, Nearpod, and Class Kick, students will respond to instruction through interactive green screen activities.
These activities will also incorporate collaborative learning, planning, and creativity. My students will be able to take their use of technology from Substitution & Augmentation to Modification and Redefinition.
