—Eric Jensen. All students learn to the best of their ability when the whole body is involved. Through alternative seating, my students will have the opportunity to become as successful as they can be.
We are a public charter school that focuses on academic achievement.
Due to this, our school and classrooms are full of diversity with families in hopes to see their child succeed. Though my students are all very different, we focus on how much we are alike as a whole in my classroom. Team work and collaboration is very important to the students, myself, and our school. Our school is a very welcoming and open community. All of us teachers bring something different to the table in order to assist each other. Overall, we are hard-working and determined to assist our students in soaring above their goals.
My Project
The students will be using the stability balls as alternative seating in our classroom. As of now, my students have the typical hard and uncomfortable school chairs. This current seating hinders the students from moving safely while focusing on their assignments as well as their overall learning capability. Young children learn best when movement is involved. The goal is to give my students the opportunity to learn to the absolute best of their ability. The stability balls are good alternatives for students with behavioral and/or exceptionalites as well.
These donations would be greatly appreciated by myself as well as my wiggly students.
This type of seating would make a huge difference in their little lives. It will cut down on the interruptions of students not sitting in their desk chairs in a safe manner, it will heighten the students' learning capability, and it will motivate the students to sit in their seats for longer periods of time.
