Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The goal of this project is to encourage my students to finish the school year strong. Since returning from Winter Break, the weather has been challenging by school being cancelled or by having indoor recess. Our weeks have been cut short by weather and often leaving us in the classroom for the entire school day leading students to feel unmotivated.
When students are caught making connections between the content and their knowledge, following classroom and school expectations they will earn school cash called, wolfbucks.
I want to be able to give my students the opportunity to spend their money on things that they want and desire by setting up a classroom store. The implementation of a classroom store will help motivate my students to make decisions that align with classroom and school expectations. It will encourage them to strive to make connection between what they know and what they have learned.
Lastly, I am requesting a color printer for my classroom to help better engage students in activities. Soon my second graders will be third graders and I want to make sure they are prepared academically as much as possible through different resources. Many of the activities in the classroom requires me print things such as phonics practice, reading passages, classroom labels, and educational posters. A color printer will allow me to print off items for my students that will be engaging.
I know my students are feeling the pressure to finish strong, just as I am. My students and I have the same end goal, which is to learn as much as we can. With my project being funded, I will be able to create a classroom culture and community to finish strong because we started strong.
