My students are a diverse group of teens from Worcester, MA. They represent all different ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Each day they come together as a cohesive ensemble to study theater.
My students know how to tell stories.
My students have dedicated themselves to tell stories of humanity. They study theater intensively for four years in addition to their normal high school curriculum. They know that studying the arts will help them build the skills mandatory to to achieve in the 21st century.
My Project
My students want to be able to capture the technology of the 21st century and apply it to their intensive study of theater. The ten Acer Chromebooks that I am requesting will allow my students to access the internet for research into their creative pursuits, and also allow them to master the application of technology in the arts. Students will be able to use the Chromebooks to complete online assignments through our Google classroom, as well as research inspiration for scenes and shows that they are designing. In addition, as a class we can use the Chromebooks to access exemplars of acting through databases of video performances.
By donating to our project you are supporting the integration of technology into the arts, and ultimately an increase in student achievement.
Currently, my students do not have access to computers while they are in my classroom, which in turn limits their education. With your generous donation a whole new world of technology will be opened to them. These Chromebooks will allow my students to receive a rich arts education with a strong backbone in technology. Building upon their already strong leadership and communication skills, the technological skills learned will make them unstoppable 21st century students!
