My Project
I teach a wonderful group of students in a moderate-to-severe autism setting. Each of them is unique, full of potential, and learns in different ways. What they all have in common is that they benefit from highly visual, engaging, and hands-on instruction. Right now, we are using a small screen during circle time, which makes it hard for all students to see, focus, and fully participate. My students deserve access to tools that match their learning needs and help them shine.
This project will bring a projector and a Lumen document camera into our classroom—tools that will completely transform the way my students learn.
With a large screen, I can display stories, visuals, and interactive lessons in a way that’s more accessible and exciting for them. The document camera will allow me to model tasks in real time, show step-by-step instructions, and share student work for group learning. These tools will help me keep their attention, support their understanding, and make learning feel more fun and meaningful.
My goal is to make learning more inclusive and interactive for students who often struggle with focus, communication, and engagement. I also want to increase opportunities for group activities and shared learning moments. My students are incredibly special—they may face challenges, but they are joyful, capable, and eager to learn when given the right support. With your help, we can give them the tools they need to thrive.
