My Project

I have the amazing honor of teaching 6th-grade ELA. By providing the materials in this project, I am able to limit the cost for families to buy supplies and also for myself. Teachers spend so much of their own money providing resources for their students to be successful. Every student deserves a high-quality education, and these materials will help me provide that for my students. The materials will be used for everyday instruction, projects, and helping me create resources for my students to best support their growth. Snacks are "brain food" for the students, which are also used as incentives. The speaker is used for videos we watch in class, as well as to play music while they work! We have "coffeeshop" time in class where lights are dimmed, and it is student work time that gives coffeeshop vibes :)

The student/family demographic is over 80% free and reduced lunch, so being able to provide all of these materials for my students will not only mean the world to me, but also to their families.

The students I come across every year are determined, driven, and passionate about their education. They all have the chance to be leaders, and that starts in my classroom. In ELA, students do not only read and write, but they also learn how to discover themselves and become future leaders. They learn skills that they will carry with them throughout the rest of their time in school, and for the rest of their lives! They should never have to worry about not having what they need in order to be successful.
