This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference. Laminating sheets, Velcro, paper, and printer ink might sound like basic supplies, but in my classroom, they’re game changers. My students on the Autism spectrum really benefit from hands-on, visual materials that they can touch, move, and interact with. Laminating keeps those materials sturdy so they don’t get ruined after a few uses, and Velcro lets me create things like communication boards and visual schedules that they can easily change and control on their own. It’s amazing how something so small can help them feel more independent and confident.

Having these supplies means I can quickly make and update personalized learning tools that fit each student’s unique needs.

Many of my kids rely on clear visuals to understand their routines and what’s expected of them—it helps ease their anxiety and keeps them focused. Being able to print and create worksheets, social stories, and visual reminders means I can give them the support they really need, in a way that works for them.

At the end of the day, these supplies aren’t just office stuff—they’re the foundation for making learning accessible and engaging for my students. They help me meet my students where they are, and that makes all the difference in helping them grow and succeed.
