This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first-year teacher in a Title I, dual language school, I envision a classroom filled with vibrant, meaningful resources that will support all students, regardless of learning style, socio-economic status, or cultural background.

Colorful visuals are powerful tools that can make learning more accessible and engaging for low-income students and emergent bilinguals.

For students who are still developing their English skills, visuals paired with text provide essential context, helping to bridge language gaps and support vocabulary development and comprehension. Bright, vibrant materials also capture students' attention and make lessons feel more exciting, which is especially valuable for those who may have limited access to enriching resources outside of school. In addition, visuals help level the playing field by offering multiple ways to understand content, making abstract concepts more concrete and easier to grasp. This kind of support not only enhances learning but also boosts student confidence, encouraging greater participation and a stronger sense of belonging in the classroom.

With these tools, I can create vibrant, hands-on resources that are both eye-catching and durable. From center activities and anchor charts to personalized student materials and classroom management tools, these supplies would help bring my lessons to life.
