Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school in Santa Ana, California where roughly 94% percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our school is a STEAM school and was completed three years ago.

I am looking to engage my students in some physical activity to compensate for the loss of physical education time.

My students are in need of some physical activity equipment. It is so important to have students up and moving during the educational process. This helps them with focusing and to keep them healthy.

My students will receive an extra hour of physical activity if this project gets funded.

I am asking for help to get my students 2-20 fo-foot in diameter Sonyabecca Parachute through Amazon, Play Parachute 20ft with 16 Handles for Kids Cooperation Group Play. I have a classroom of 32 and teach 2 classes of 5th graders. They are so many activities that the students can play using the parachutes and they find it so very engaging.

My Project

Helping my students to be more physically active while using the parachutes as learning activities and physical activities is a fantastic way to help keep them healthy and more engaged with learning. It is important that students understand that they need physical activity for the body and also for the mind. This type of activity helps students to internalize what they have learned.

It is so exciting when we can keep our students engaged in all of the learning including PE because PE is such an integral part of learning.

When we engage the act of movement with the act of learning it aids students to remember what the have learned.
