This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The popcorn machine will transform our school library into an immersive literary space, making book-to-movie experiences more engaging. The aroma and ambiance of fresh popcorn will create a cozy, theater-like atmosphere that enhances students’ connection to stories, encouraging deeper comprehension and a love for reading. This multisensory experience will help students engage with literature in a new way, making learning more enjoyable and memorable.

Goals for This Project

My goal is to foster a love of reading by making literature come alive. I also want to enhance our Student Support Time by offering enrichment during this time for students who are passing their classes and don't need tutoring. By incorporating a popcorn machine into book-to-movie events, I want to create a fun and inviting space where students feel excited about books. This project aims to encourage literacy, spark discussions about adaptations, and inspire students to explore more stories.

What Makes My Students Special

My students are curious, creative, and eager to learn. Many of them thrive on hands-on and interactive experiences that go beyond traditional reading. They love stories but sometimes need extra encouragement to pick up a book. By providing a unique and engaging way to experience literature, I hope to nurture their enthusiasm for reading and help them build a lifelong love of books.
