This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I currently teach in a 4th grade ICT classroom that consists of general education students and special education students with IEPs.
The students are of mixed backgrounds and many are from low-income families.
They have reading levels that range from level J to level T. They all have different learning styles, so it is beneficial for tasks to be visual and hands-on whenever possible.
My students treat each other with respect and dignity for all. They are very kind to each other and very respectful to adults.
My Project
My class has begun a CS4All initiative where we are integrating computer science into our current reading, writing, math, and social studies units. We would like the Osmo Genius Kits for our 11 iPads in our classroom that we use for small group work and centers.
We would love to use the Osmo Genius kits for our iPads in order to bring some hands-on coding into our classroom through centers and small group work.
These will give my students the opportunity to program their writing pieces, retell stories they are reading, use an algorithm to solve math problems, and many many more amazing activities.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
