From Numbers to Knowledge: Empowering Young Mathematicians
Help me give my students the hands-on math manipulatives and learning materials they need to succeed. These tools will support my 2nd graders whom come from low-income backgrounds—in building a strong foundation in math through engaging, tactile learning.

My Project
I love that my 2nd grade students are curious, creative, and full of potential. They come to school eager to learn, even when faced with challenges beyond the classroom. Many of my students come from low-income households and don’t always have access to the resources that support hands-on or individualized learning—but that never stops their enthusiasm or determination.
This project will provide my students with math manipulatives and an iPad—two powerful tools that will make a real difference in their learning.
The math manipulatives, like base ten blocks, counters, and number lines, will help my students build a concrete understanding of essential math concepts like place value, addition, subtraction, and problem-solving. These tools make math feel real and accessible, especially for visual and kinesthetic learners.
The iPad will support differentiated learning by giving students access to math apps and digital activities that meet them where they are. It will also allow for small group instruction, independent practice, and interactive lessons that keep students engaged and motivated.
