My students need dry erase boards and markers to practice numbers and letters, paper to make art projects and books to listen to in order to develop oral language.
Our students just want to learn. They love to learn through hands on experiences. We are in need of the materials because we are a newly developed classroom at our school. At the beginning of the school year we had nothing. Now we have some materials, but we need the essentials to create great learners.
Our classroom is a Kindergarten through 2nd grade classroom.
We service students who have special education needs. Our students have special needs anywhere from Autism to Learning Disabilities to Intellectual Disabilities. We are an elementary school with a high poverty rate.
My Project
Since my students are typically two to three years behind grade level. We need to cover a lot of work in order to get them back on track. These materials will give them the opportunity to learn through hands on activities. The white boards and markers are a great way to practice numbers and letters without wasting paper and making sure they can succeed and feel great about it. The paper will help them with cutting skills and following directions. The audio books are a great way to encourage reading to my students. They also are a great way to develop oral language. These students are wonderful people who just need a little extra guidance and support to become a proactive citizen.
My students and their families just want to be able to fit within the school system.
By helping them receive these items, they will be able to participate in the learning environment. These students have so much in their lives. This will let them know that people want them to succeed in school and that you care about them. Thank you in advance for helping my little acorns turn into mighty oaks.
