Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are brave, thoughtful young people who use writing to explore their identity, make sense of the world, and tell stories that matter. Many come from underserved backgrounds and have never imagined seeing their name on a published piece of writing. But in this group, they’ve found not only inspiration and mentorship—they’ve found their voice. Their goal is clear: to publish a collection of their work and share it with their school, families, and beyond.

We are seeking your support to fund an iPad that will help our students take their writing beyond the classroom and into the world, empowering them to share their work as published authors.

We are requesting an iPad to support our student publishing efforts. This tool will allow us to:

Design and layout a professionally formatted student anthology

Use publishing apps like Book Creator and Pages to compile student poetry, short stories, and essays

Record author interviews and “behind the scenes” reflections as part of a digital companion piece

Collaborate on writing edits in real time using shared documents

Submit student work to youth publishing platforms, literary magazines, and writing contests

This iPad will be central to the publishing process—from first draft to final release. It will help our students learn the complete lifecycle of a writing project and give them the skills to navigate the digital publishing world confidently and creatively.

This iPad will be their creative partner. It will help them shape their vision, polish their prose, and design something they can proudly hold in their hands and say, “I made this.”

Publishing a book is a transformative experience. It shows students that their words have value, their ideas have impact, and their stories deserve a place in the world. Your support will help make that dream real.
