it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help us get with the times! Running around in search of various genres of Cd's to cover the vast array of cultural dances in my class, should be a thing of the past with the great invention of the ipod and itunes that can be easily uploaded and holds hundreds of songs.
I am a high school PE/Dance teacher in a diverse but high-risk community.
I teach a variety of cultural dances to a wonderful group of highly energetic kids who enjoy learning the different styles of ethnic dance. Please help me teach them further appreciation of the arts through exposure to all genres by donating a much-needed ipod to my classroom.
My Project
Learning different styles of ethnic dance can be very inspiring and influential to my students. Many of them have a natural appreciation to the urban culture and develop an instant liking to new genres. In addition to learning the dance, they also learn about the culture and ethnicity of each. Their exposure to my lessons helps them develop a better understanding and sensitivity to cultural diversity, ultimately beneficial to their futures.
Your donation can positively inspire my students by allowing them an opportunity to develop a passion for dance and the arts.
It is critical to many of them for they can easily be persuaded into criminal activity if they do not have plans for college. My goal is to provide my students with another alternative aside from sports to inspire higher learning. Your donation will help build a high quality dance program for my school.
