From Floor Time to First Drafts: Tools for Tiny Thinkers

Help me give my students the tools to grow, create, and thrive with a rug for gathering, journals for writing, and supplies to spark joy.

My Project

In our classroom, the day begins on the soft rug where tiny feet gather and little hearts open. This is more than a floor covering, it's our circle of connection, where students feel seen, safe, and ready to learn. Primary journals offer space for emerging writers to reflect, process big feelings, and discover their voices. With colored pencils and crayons, their emotions take shape in vivid, expressive art. Printer ink allows me to create personalized activities that meet them right where they are. Magnetic shelves help foster independence and give students easy access to tools that spark curiosity and confidence.

Each item in this project helps us build not just a classroom, but a community rooted in creativity, care, and courage.
