My amazing students have big imaginations and even bigger dreams. They love to design and want to bring their creations to life! What if I could help my students master mathematics skills while becoming creative inventors?
Let's go from Flat to Fabulous as we design and create using mathematical skills!
With the Chomp Saw and art materials, my students will go from flat learning to fabulous engagement as they turn abstract mathematical concepts into hands-on, concrete experiences. As they construct pinball machines, puppets, and games they invent, they will learn how to visualize how parts fit together, which is critical for geometry and spatial reasoning. As they design projects using the copy paper, they will measure lengths and widths, angles, and additional units of measurement before cutting with the Chomp Saw. They will also have to problem solve and use logical thinking as they recognize patterns and sequences throughout the engineering process and when redesigning their pieces. Once they have completed their projects, they can add color with Kwik Stix! One element I love about this project is that the Chop Saw has an inclusive design that will allow all of my students the chance to cut out their designs from cardboard.
