My Project

Dear Friends and Supporters,

My name is Neal Fannin, and I’m the school counselor in Versailles, Kentucky.

I’m excited to share that I will be moving into a new classroom this summer—a space that I hope to transform into a welcoming, calming, and inspiring place for every student who walks through the door.

We are a home to an incredible and diverse group of students. What I love most about them is their resilience, their curiosity, and their huge hearts. Every day, they show up ready to learn, grow, and connect—even when life brings them challenges. My job as their school counselor is to walk alongside them, offering support, teaching important life skills, and reminding them that they are never alone.

In order to create the kind of space our students need and deserve, I am asking for your help.

I’ve created a project on DonorsChoose listing items that will help build and maintain a strong, student-centered counseling program. Every single item was chosen with our kids in mind:

• Flexible seating gives students choice and comfort, helping them feel more in control and at ease during our time together.

• Sensory tools provide calm and focus for students dealing with anxiety, sensory challenges, or big emotions.

• Books and games help us explore topics like kindness, friendship, emotions, and resilience in fun and meaningful ways.

• Decor and organizational materials will create a warm, inviting space that feels safe and structured.

Every item on the list will help me create a space where students feel seen, heard, and valued.
