My Project

Our Percussion Program is in need of some 21st century instruments! The items listed in this project allow us to create digital instruments by being the interface needed to play with computer sounds. The FocusRite interfaces will allow the midi controllers to connect to two MacBooks and we can use Garage Band, MainStage, Logic Pro, and many other digital audio workstations to create, produce, and master digital music implementation.

I would love to be able to provide the tools to give my students the chance to understand and perform the music of the past, present, and future.

The PRP percussion section is a diverse and hungry group of students who want to "try everything." The surrounding middle schools do not offer a great deal of opportunity with percussion playing, and offer zero options for digital music design and performance. These kids have a great deal of interest incorporating the sounds and effects of modern sampling with the thunder and grace of traditional percussion playing. Every student needs to be able to play something that they know and understand fully. These instruments give us a chance to utilize their expertise and creativity to their fullest potential.

The goal is always to make fine people who understand discipline, cooperation, use positive reinforcement and encouragement, and are solution-oriented leaders for the future. Music is exceptionally positioned to provide students this opportunity. I'm confident in music students making the world better for all of us.
