My Students

Discover, explore, and wonder! These are words that we use with our curious little scientists as we learn about our environment and the wonderful natural surprises within it! Everyday, our kindergarten children amaze us with their ability to grasp new concepts like little sponges. As kindergarten teachers, we find such inspiration in their curiosity, passion, and intelligence!

Our classrooms consist of students with varying abilities and various economic backgrounds.

Some have disabilities that impact them academically, behaviorally, and socially. Some come from homes that lack stability. Some struggle with English because it is their second language. Some cannot afford field trips, sports, or extracurricular activities. Despite their differences, we have found that all children want to learn and succeed. We are hoping that we can teach our children to be respectful, responsible, compassionate and care for our incredible planet!

My Project

My students need one caterpillar kit and two classroom ABC Butterfly Fun Rugs for learning spaces. Our little scientists love to learn through hands-on activities and experiences. By using these resources, the kindergarten students will learn about the life cycle of butterflies by housing, caring for, and observing this wonderful natural process! The caterpillar kit includes a habitat for the caterpillars, feeding instructions, and a voucher for live caterpillars to be sent to the school. As kindergarten teachers, we see the value of intertwining this amazing science activity into all content areas including reading, writing, and math! The rugs will allow us to each have a classroom space dedicated to discovery, exploration, and learning!

Instead of just reading about it in a book and looking at pictures, these resources will allow our students a real chance to become active participants in their learning!

We will use these resources to create hands-on, multi-sensory activities for our students that inspire and stimulate their creative minds!
