From Court to Career: A Volleyball Clinic with Purpose

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I absolutely love how driven and creative my students are—they’re high school seniors with big hearts and big goals. They’re not only learning about entrepreneurship, marketing, and leadership in the classroom; they’re also eager to apply those skills in a meaningful way. This project allows them to take what they’ve learned and turn it into action by organizing a volleyball clinic for local middle school students.

The outdoor net system, volleyballs, scoreboard, and ball pump will give them the tools they need to host a real event from start to finish—planning, promoting, managing, and mentoring.

We are also requesting a Mikasa BCSPSH Ball Cart, which is essential for organizing the volleyballs during the clinic. This professional-quality cart will make setup and cleanup more efficient and help keep our space safe and functional. It allows for smooth transitions between drills and games, and helps students stay focused on leading the event instead of managing loose equipment.

These resources aren’t just about playing a sport; they’re about building confidence, communication skills, and community connection. My students are proud of their ability to lead and give back, and this clinic is their opportunity to do just that, while bringing the exciting world of volleyball to younger students who may not have had a chance to play before. I’ve seen the spark this idea has already created in them, and I know that with your help, we can turn that spark into something truly impactful.
