My Project

My students are the next generation of problem solvers. In our Principles of Computing class, they aren't just learning to type - they are learning to think critically and creatively. They come from diverse backgrounds with varying levels of tech exposure, but they all share a common trait: they thrive when they can see their work come to life. Many of my students are visual and tactile learners who find "traditional" programming a bit abstract. They deserve tools that make the digital world feel tangible and exciting.

We are looking to transition from "Screen-Only" coding to Physical Computing.

While my students have been doing great work with Python, there is a unique magic that happens when a student writes a script and a physical device in their hand starts to play music, measure the room’s temperature, or react to movement.

The micro:bit v2.0 club kits are the perfect bridge. Because these kits include built-in speakers, microphones, and touch sensors, my students can:

1. Develop Python Skills: Write real-world scripts to control hardware.

2. Prototype Innovations: Build wearable tech, "smart" security alarms, or even data loggers.

3. Collaborate: Working in pairs with these kits encourages peer-to-peer debugging and collective "aha!" moments.
