Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I absolutely love how curious, creative, and thoughtful my third graders are. They ask big questions, share their dreams, and are always eager to learn—especially when it comes to reading. But right now, our classroom library is limited, and many students don’t have access to books that reflect their identities, cultures, or interests. This project will help us build a diverse class library full of rich, engaging titles—some that celebrate their cultural backgrounds, some that spark imagination, and some beloved classics that every child deserves to experience. With the right books, my students can see themselves as heroes, problem-solvers, and learners—and they’ll know their voices and stories matter. These books won’t just support reading skills; they’ll fuel a lifelong love of learning.
