My Project
My students are passionate technology enthusiasts who light up when discussing video games, but many don't realize these games could lead to fulfilling careers. Our diverse collection of board games (UNO, Connect 4, Bop It, No Mercy) will teach fundamental programming concepts through familiar gameplay mechanics, helping students understand loops, conditions, and user interactions in an accessible way.
The Nintendo Switch and its games will demonstrate how traditional game concepts transform into digital experiences, bridging the gap between basic logic and complex programming.
Games like Minecraft foster creativity and basic coding concepts, while sports titles like NBA 2K25 and Super Mega Baseball showcase physics engines and AI development.
Our carefully selected career books, from "Ultimate Gamer Career Mode" to "Jobs in Technology," will open students' eyes to various technology career paths. "Gamer Girls" and "The Boy Who Thought Outside the Box" will inspire diverse perspectives in game development, showing students that anyone can succeed in tech careers regardless of their background.
What makes our students special is their natural curiosity about how things work. They're already analyzing games as players; we'll help them think like developers. Our goals are to:
Transform gaming passion into career inspiration
Teach programming concepts through familiar games
Build confidence in technology skills
Create awareness of diverse career opportunities in gaming and tech industries
This project will help students see that their gaming interests can lead to rewarding careers in technology, game development, and beyond.
