This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with STEM creative and meaningful learning experiences.One of my objectives for this coming academic year is to teach my student to create and maintain a sustainable organic garden.

My Project

My student mostly live in a community plague by apartment and they lack a green space. The garden supplies will give an opportunity for my students to create and maintain a sustainable garden whereas it would be impossible to do at home.Not only will students learn to garden but hopefully it will enhance their eating habits as well. My students will be enhancing their STEM concepts learned in class plus they will be taking the harvest home to enjoy. Furthermore, students will become life long nature learners and hopefully instill fun activities that will provide opportunities to create a green space at home.
