This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I will be teaching 19 enthusiastic and amazing Second Graders. My school is a Title 1 School with students who are mostly from Low-socioeconomic background. However, my students are resilient and persistent individuals, who will excel regardless of the present challenges.

My Project

Reading clocks is a tricky concept for students at any age or stage. While it is tricky to learn because of how abstract it is. It can be learned. While, number line is a well-known and used strategy in Mathematics. Why not combine both?

Combining the concept of reading time on a number line is a phenomenal idea.

On the number line the students would be able to see, quarter as well as half of 60 much clearer. Then combining the number line with the clock would help with the understanding of reading those times even better.
