Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a teacher at Title I, a fine arts magnet school. My students are from different economic backgrounds. The majority of them are economically disadvantaged. Their home settings range from two-parent to single-parent homes. A majority of my students are of Spanish culture (or descent) or African-American.
My students are innovative, hard-working, and most importantly, dreamers.
We focus on student-led education. My students display their eagerness to learn, and most importantly, the character traits that come with persistence and resilience.
My Project
I will be transferring from First grade ( after 6 years) to Teaching Third Grade Language Arts this coming school year. With the recent school year (due to the pandemic), there is a higher need for closing gaps in reading and language arts. With these recourses, my students will be aided by an organized and fluent atmosphere, as well as to have access to tools and resources that will help them achieved the needed TEKS/standards, and critical thinking skills they will need in order to be successful in the future.
