My students need frog specimens to dissect in the lab.

My Students
Are we going to dissect this year? That's invariably the first question I am asked every year. It's a legitimate question because being an urban school with no budget for science enrichment, we often do not have lab supplies to work with.
My students are inquisitive and love experiencing science instead of just learning about other people doing science.
They have challenging lives and often see disparity between what they have access to in school and what other, non-urban, districts have access to. They desire those same opportunities to get them ready for college and the world beyond.
My Project
These frog specimens will greatly enhance their ability to to compare vertebrate structures to those of other types of organisms, to experience science first-hand, and to work effectively in a lab setting. This kind of experience will also work to develop their natural curiosity even further and inspire them to continue learning.
These students face so many obstacles, one of which should not be school.
Science should be active and fun and students should have the opportunity to experience that. This project has the ability to encourage life-long learning in students who are often prone to losing the curiosity they currently have.
