it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a learning community that prospers through cooperative learning. We work as a family and we enjoy our time together. I want my students to be confident and inspired by their education. I want my students to know that people authentically care about their success.
My students come from very humble backgrounds.
All students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch due to their economic backgrounds. My school is a very humble school with greatly inspired teachers and administrators. I love my school! I'm lucky. We are nestled just 15 minutes outside of downtown Los Angeles that has been historically gangs and violence. However, we are make great strides in making our community a great example of what quality schools can do to a community. Our city is currently listed as one of the "up & coming" communities to live in all of the U.S.
My Project
My students will be learning the elements of Life Science (cells, genetics, reproduction and body systems.) We will dissect frogs to help make connections to our own bodies, but more importantly, expose lab work and protocols to students before they reach high school. This will be an essential still to have. They will also be working as teams to present their findings and processes of the dissection.
My students crave new opportunities and new forms of learning in the classroom.
I see this experience as one that will undoubtedly stay with them and aid them in their development of science and engineering.
