We need more books about frogs!" Students in grades K-8 are studying frogs! They need books with excellent information, at different reading levels, that engage and inform them.
I teach a K-8 science lab in a multicultural, inclusive public elementary school.
My students range in age from 5-13; They vary in academic levels and interests, but they all are enthusiastic about science and especially learning about and observing our classroom frogs.
My Project
These books will engage my students' interest and increase their understanding of frogs and their importance to our environment. Students at all grade levels will be making Frog Fact Lily Pads; They will read a variety of frog books, make fact lists and create paper lily pads with their favorite facts for display. Middle school students will also use the books to learn more about the anatomy of frogs (form and function) in preparation for frog dissection. The books will naturally cause students to ask questions and do research!
Frogs are amazingly engaging to students of all ages; They have an important role in the food web, our environment, and our health (medicines); They live all over the globe (except Antarctica); Your contribution will help immerse my students in frogs!
It is important for my students to have access to books they can read, that are informative, and engaging. Your contribution can help inspire future environmental scientists.
