My Students
Dissecting a frog is one of the most memorable activities for most people in their first biology class. It is an activity that most students look forward to as they enter high school.
My students are smart and creative.
They have big plans and dreams for their futures. However, because they are in an urban school district, they too often do not have the same opportunities as some of their future peers in college. Our district does not have the funds to supply our students with materials for lab dissections.
My Project
We need frog specimens to dissect in the laboratory. This lab will enable them to actually see the systems and structures they will be learning about. It will get them excited about learning. This is a staple in biology classes across the country that my students need the opportunity to experience as well.
They have begged since the first day of school to dissect a frog.
This project will get them excited and curious! It will give them an in depth look at biology in a way that they have never been able to experience before. It will be a learning experience that they will never forget!
