My students need frogs and a guide for a dissection to explore body systems.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students need to DO SCIENCE! -not just read it or see it in a video. These frogs will help them to understand how body systems work together to perform the functions of a complex organism.
I teach around 150 students, with classes up to 40 students.
My students are economically disadvantaged. They are predominantly Latino and other minorities. Most qualify for free or reduced lunches. Most of their parents do not speak English as their primary language.
My Project
By dissecting these frogs students will be engaged in a purposeful, hands-on activity that will let them be the scientists. They will explore the body systems of the frog, carefully dissecting it to reveal the organs and structures that all work together to create a functioning, complex organism that is not too dissimilar to ourselves.
Let's face it - the things we remember most are the projects and labs that engaged us in the exploration of a meaningful subject. These kids will remember this lab for the rest of their lives, and it may inspire them to become scientists, veterinarians, or doctors.
My budget for the school year is $162.
That is it! Please help out and give my students a lesson they will never forget! With our country's growing demand for scientists and health care providers we need to increase our students' interest in science like never before.
