My students need more frisbees to practice their frisbee throwing skills in pairs and triads before the ultimate frisbee and frisbee golf units.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We have a respectful and motivated student population; however, most come from a low socioeconomic background and have little to no access to recreation facilities or centers due to cost and location. Most do not have the money to join team sports or to pay for the school sports after school. Most of our students do not have access to healthy food as convince stores at gas stations are their only option for snacks in their communities. We do not have a grocery store. Most students are latch key kids with both parents working. Most of our students population lives a sedentary lifestyle due to these factors.
My Project
We are setting our sights on improving positive behavior from our adolescent students in our physical education program at our school. In order to create an impactful program and class hour that motivates students, we are in need of more equipment for certain units. For example ultimate frisbee! With class sizes of up to 37 middle school students, it is hard to create a lesson plan where our kids can practice in pairs with frisbees before they play when we have a limited about of frisbees.
When students can practice individually we see an increase in engagement.
I have requested a set of frisbees that are safer for class and will not cause injuries that are hoop like. As well as regular frisbees to play and practice with.
More than half of students from low‑income households
