Friendship Through Fried Worms!

Help me give my students the opportunity to have a book in their hands as we work on novel studies next school year. This will help them be more engaged in the reading.

My Project

Teaching during and after COVID has made several needs very clear for our students. The biggest one is that our students need to be reading more. We feel what will help that is making sure that students have books in their hands to refer to while we conduct novel studies in class. Having something tangible allows them to follow along, which, in turn, will help with any spelling, grammar, or writing deficits. Additionally, they will be exposed to genres different from what they may gravitate toward and keep them engaged.

Learning life lessons while reading is another focus for our next school year.

How To Eat Fried Worms is a classic book that most students today may not think to read. It is not only an entertaining book but it also teaches the lesson of friendship and overcoming someone who is a bully.
