My students need learning tools that are hands-on defining their fine-motor skills; focusing on their eye-hand coordination and pincer grasp. This will increase their chances of manipulating writing tools with more focus and control.

My Students
All of my students are between the ages of 3 to 5, and the majority of them speak another language other than English at home, and all are in a Head Start program or Pre-K Counts.
Preschool is supposed to be the time of your life.
This is a time to play all day, sleep all night, and nap in between. Learning involves toys, toys, and more toys, with books and friends mixed in there.
With funds being tight; teaching has been very difficult when there lacks teaching materials in the classroom. Our students, our future leaders, should not have to suffer the loss of lack of “toys” or learning material. What fun is that?
My Project
We have a Manipulatives Center in our classroom that my students use daily. In this center, they depend on finding tools and games that will build their understanding of their world.
These manipulatives like Magna-Tiles and Magna-Cars &Trucks will support my students in developing stronger fine motor skills, which is a precursor to writing skills, which connects to literacy skills.
These are fun and engaging ways to encourage my students to manipulate magnetic shapes and transportation vehicles or letters in sand and building flower structures to strengthen their hand muscles in a fun way! These will also support their language by describing what they’re building, how they’re building it and why. They will learn to share and take turns with them.
