My Project

I intentionally created a small and attainable project to highlight some essential needs for a fresh start. It is both a personal and school initiative to provide more foundational skills instruction based in best practices to our students. We are taking classes, changing curriculum and practices and seeking innovative methods of teaching. In order to do this, we need a clean environment with engaging tools and methods.

This project includes materials to help me set up a fresh start in the intervention classroom.

The sight word book will allow me to use a new method more closely aligned with research to teach students the most common (and most tricky) words that they'll encounter in their reading. I've included folders that can keep students materials in the center, goal setting and reference guides in the pockets, and letter tiles in the pouch. The tabs are a novel way to help students keep track of their spot and progress in their folders. Scented flair pens will motivate students to stay engaged with their work- little things go a long way!! The crayons will allow students to reflect the identity of themselves and loved ones in their drawings. Finally, Lysol wipes will help keep the room clean and reduce germs so that students can come to school and learn! I appreciate your help with this initiative.
