My Project
This fall, I’ll be stepping into a new role as the ELD (English Language Development) teacher at Brooklyn Park Middle School. I’m incredibly excited—but I also know I’m joining a classroom where students already had a teacher they cared for and trusted. As we begin this new journey together, I want to create a learning space that says: You belong here. Your learning matters.
Language learning is about more than just vocabulary and grammar—it’s about confidence, comfort, and connection.
That’s why I’m seeking Zenergy chairs to bring flexible seating into our classroom from the very start. These movement-friendly chairs allow students to bounce, fidget, and focus, giving them a sense of agency and comfort as they take on the challenge of learning English in a new environment.
Many of my students are navigating multiple transitions—new school, new language, sometimes even a new country. Flexible seating sends a powerful message: their needs are recognized and supported. It helps students self-regulate, stay engaged, and build the stamina they need to take academic risks and grow as language learners.
