This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My incoming fifth graders are curious, hardworking, and full of potential. They are working hard to learn two languages, English and Spanish, and they are super eager to grow as readers! Scholastic News magazines provide colorful, high-interest, real-world texts that make reading exciting and relevant.
These magazines will give my students the opportunity to see themselves as confident readers.
Each issue is filled with interactive articles, vibrant images, and engaging stories that not only support their reading comprehension but also encourage meaningful discussions. The topics are diverse, current, and culturally responsive, making them relatable for all my learners. My students will have the added joy of taking these magazines home, allowing them to share what they’ve learned with their families and to continue reading outside of school.
My goal for this project is to build a classroom where students feel empowered to read for both knowledge and enjoyment. I want my fifth graders to develop a love of learning that lasts beyond our classroom walls. By supporting this project, you’ll be giving my students access to texts that spark curiosity, strengthen language skills, and open doors to a brighter academic future.
