My Students

My students live in a poverty-stricken region that is highly affected by drug use and unemployment. These adverse conditions have landed over half of my students in foster homes or in relative placement. This creates stressful home lives as families struggle to cope.

Despite these situations, my students come to school everyday, ready to learn.

They come in every morning asking about what we are going to do for the day, and are excited to be at a school where they are safe and loved.

The current pandemic has put much stress on teachers and students, but we continue to persevere.

My Project

Preschool is such a magical place. It allows children to learn so many different things in many different ways. One of the ways that we enhance learning in a preschool setting is through hands-on experiences and play.

The Aerogarden and supplies will allow my students to participate in the planting of fresh foods, watching them grow, and learning what it takes to make food grow!.

What an experience for my students that they would be able to watch the plants transform before their eyes and then get to reap the benefits of our hard work!
