Fresh as Fresh - Feminine Hygiene Products for All!

Help me give my students peace of mind and assurance that their basic needs are being met by providing sanitary napkins and feminine hygiene products such as Tampax tampons and Always pads.

My Project

Feeling confident and secure in their body is something that students struggle with daily. Female students especially struggle with body image and confidence when they have to worry about their menstrual cycle. My students often come to school with no supplies for their menstrual cycle and no way to access supplies in our small town. We are located 8 miles from the closest Dollar General and over 30 miles from the nearest Wal-Mart. With no car and no store, our female middle and high school students often lack the hygiene products they need.

Access to menstrual products is a right.

All of my students should be able to feel clean and confident and have the menstrual products they need.

When students don't have the products they need, they miss school. Odors and leakages can be a challenge, and for school-aged girls, these negative experiences could lead to discomfort, distraction, absenteeism, and even dropping out of school. All of these factors can affect a child's mental, social, and emotional well-being. When unhygienic alternatives are used, this can be physically, mentally, and emotionally harmful.

Access to menstruation products would make a difference for my students. I want to help give them access to the necessary items they need to succeed academically, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Help me to help my students not only feel fresh but be fresh.
