This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is a Title I school located in Bushwick, Brooklyn with a large population of asylum seekers that were forcibly displaced and fled their home countries with few possessions. In order to meet the basic needs of our families the Evergreen boutique (E-Boutique) was created.
With your help our families can shop at no cost for hygiene products in a space that is safe and maintains their dignity.
Our school community has rallied around the students and families and have given much support however the needs are great, and we need additional help for our families.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
