This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All students need to be comfortable to learn. This project will help to allow students to thrive in an environment that accommodates their different needs. All of my students are students in special education. Many of them struggle to regulate their own bodies and needs to be able to learn effectively. By providing these flexible seating options, my students will be able to overcome those disadvantages. They also need a clean, organized space to decrease cognitive dysfunction. With shelving I will be able to keep unneeded items out of sight so my students can focus on their leaning. Whether the child is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, an intellectual disability or is just needing extra support that day- they’ll be accommodated in a welcoming and comfortable space.
