Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every Friday, of the week, I give my students the opportunity for autonomy during our Free Build Friday as a way to celebrate a week of hard work. Students get to select a project they would like to work on; either coding on computers, sketching and designing on grid paper using pencils, markers, and colored pencils, or engineering with Playdoh, popsicle sticks, foil, rubber bands and many other supplies!

This also acts as an incentive for students to attend school on Fridays since they can spend time with their friends doing crafts, engineering, board games, online activities, etc.

Students have really enjoyed getting to do projects and explore the topics that interest them.
