My Students

Our students are champions whether they realize it or not. They have been patient and graceful during COVID. Additionally, they have been challenged. All of my students are affected by socio-economic issues that commonly arise in urban areas. My students are parents, baby sitters, cooks and so much more outside of school. They are English Language Learners. They are homeless or living in transitional housing. Home is a short stay hotel. Home can be a family members house with several other families occupying that space. My students rely on food provided from Title 1. They receive food boxes from the local food bank. Outside of their socioeconomic status, they are just kids. They have ambitions that are constantly handicapped by their home life.

Our students are passionate.

Our students are deserving. Our students are gifted. Our students are resilient. Our students have lost many battles, but continue to rise to the occasion.

My Project

My goal is to cover the cost of cheerleading items to include cheer bag, bows, practice shorts, jackets, and cotton shirts. We will use bookbags to put each student's name. We will use Gildan shirts to print various shirts needed throughout the season for homecoming, breast cancer awareness, and other events. The materials will be used for practice, games, and school events and photos.

I want every student to be able to participate with a minimal financial responsibility to our parents.

No girl should sit on the sideline this year.
