This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach second grade in a neighborhood that sometimes struggles to meet basic needs. They are kind hearted kids who are hungry for knowledge.
In our classroom we leave our worries at the door and become a family that loves to grow and work together.
We thrive on learning to read and then getting lost in literature. We enjoy sharing what we've learned with everyone. We are language learners who are excited about making connections to well written text, to the world, and to ourselves!
My Project
Everyone wants to get lost in a great story. Help my class get lost in Freckle Juice by Judy Blume. We can make connections with the main character who is in school just like we are. We can make predictions and enjoy the plot twists.
We can find out what Freckle Juice means to us by making connections to this great text!
Let us explore the text and learn some life lessons through literature. We will create works of art and learn to express ourselves through great writing and discussion. This book will help us learn and grow into lifelong readers!
