FRC#5860 New First Robotics Competition Driver Station Laptop

Help me give my students a new FIRST Robotics Competition Driver Station laptop. Our current driver station is an older Dell laptop that was donated 4 years ago. Thank you all for considering!

My Students

The students of the Algonac Robotics club are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! Every time we have a team meeting, they are challenged to meet a task and build a robot to meet the game challenges. Students of the Algonac Robotics Club are able to participate in a world class robotics competition event even if they are from a small rural community in Michigan becuase of their hard work, ethics and desire to succeed and learn how to use STEM to better their life and environment they live in.

My Project

We are a high school competitive robotics team located in Algonac MI and we need to upgrade our driver station laptop.

Last year, we started to program vision processing and our robot was just sending too much data to our driver station.

The end result, was the processor could not handle all that traffic. This will help our team continue being competitive and learning advanced robotics techniques despite our small school footprint.

This laptop will be use to create the interface between the actual competition robots we use and the human driver team. They are controlling every robot function using the National Instrument software on the laptop.
