I am seeking funding to provide my 3rd-grade students with a set of fraction strips to support their understanding of fractions. Fractions are a fundamental math concept that students will use throughout their lives, from measuring ingredients while cooking to dividing expenses and understanding time. Many students struggle with comparing and finding equivalent fractions, but hands-on tools like fraction strips make these abstract concepts more concrete and engaging.
With these materials, my students will visually compare fractions, identify equivalent values, and develop a deeper number sense.
This hands-on approach fosters confidence in math and encourages problem-solving skills that extend beyond the classroom. Your support will help make fractions more accessible and meaningful for my students. Thank you for considering this request!
